Education: Rachel earned her dual Master’s degrees in Community Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy at John Brown University. She is a licensed professional counselor (LPC), licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), registered play therapist (RPT) and technology assisted counselor (TAC). Rachel holds professional licenses in Oklahoma and Arkansas. She also holds a speciality credential in supervision in both Arkansas and Oklahoma for LPC-S, LMFT-S, RPT-S and TAC-S. Rachel is EMDR trained and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner in training with Beginning Level completed. She attended counselor supervision training through Henderson State University as a postgraduate course.
Experience: Rachel’s experience has focused on general mental health issues with special training to work with couples, family and children through play therapy. She has practiced professionally for 8 years. Her primary practice modalities are somatic experiencing, polyvagal theory and cognitive behavioral therapy. Rachel utilizes techniques from client-centered therapy, family systems, Gottman method and emotion focused therapy. She has experience supervising mental health professionals as a clinical director for an agency. Rachel supervises interns in graduate programs working towards counseling degrees. She also supervises associate counselors earning hours towards LPC, LMFT and/or professionals working towards their RPT. Rachel currently works in an outpatient group private practice. Her past work history includes school-based, home-based, clinic, day treatment and community based clinics.
