Description:

Do you find yourself feeling emotionally exhausted and frustrated in your play therapy practice? Are you exhausted at the thought of another day at work?  Are your metaphorical markers getting dried up?  Studies have shown that play therapy can be emotionally demanding on therapists, more so than other forms of counseling. High levels of stress and burnout can lead a good play therapist down a path of scribbles when it comes to managing those ethical lines of practice.  Join this reflective workshop to assess your experience in play therapy practice and find the color in your wellness, self-care and balance practices.

Objectives:

  1. Participants of this workshop will examine the experiences in play therapy that contribute to the therapist’s experience of stress, burnout and low job satisfaction.
  2. Participants of this workshop will identify and experience self-assessment tools that facilitate assessment of the therapist’s experience of stress, burnout and job satisfaction in their play therapy practice.
  3. Participants of this workshop will experience and discuss play therapy interventions designed to explore their own experiences with wellness, self-care, and finding balance in order to advance their professional self-awareness and coping strategies in their play therapy practice.
