Education: Samantha graduated from Friend’s University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology in 2002. She then received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Wichita State University in 2007.

Experience: During my graduate school practicum I worked at the Wichita Children’s Home (WCH) providing individual therapy to children placed there. I also worked with the Families KAN program through the WCH providing family therapy to at-risk youth and their parents. After graduating with my master’s degree I began working for St Francis Community Services providing in-home family therapy to children in foster care and their families working towards reintegration. I worked there for 3 years and then moved to an outpatient therapy position with Youthville Family Consultation Service (FCS). While at FCS I provided therapy mostly to foster children and their biological parents. Due to all of my experience with the foster care system I also have a lot of experience with writing court reports and testifying in court. While at FCS I also co-facilitated the adolescent sexual offender treatment group and provided individual therapy to adolescent sex offenders. I worked at FCS for a little over a year and then was able to obtain my clinical license. After obtaining my clinical license I decided to go into private practice. I have now been in private practice for the past 3 years.

Additional Information: I went through the KC Play Therapy program in 2011 because I saw a need to have more “tools in my toolbox” when it came to working with children. While I do see adults in my practice and sometimes utilize play therapy techniques with adults, my passion is working with chil-dren and most of my play therapy experience is with children. I have experience working with children as young as three years old.
