Bridget Dixon, LSCSW, RPT-S

Bridget (she/her), is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker, Registered Play Therapist Supervisor™ and founder of Monarch Play Therapy.  She is a graduate of The University of Kansas and has been an adjunct instructor for The School of Social Welfare at KU since 2014. Bridget also provides clinical supervision, training and professional development to clinical social workers and community mental health centers.

Over the past 22 years, Bridget has worked in various public service contexts, including child welfare, community mental health, substance abuse, behavior consultation and early childhood mental health. She previously served as the Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant at Head Start of Lawrence.  Play therapy is a passion for Bridget!  She is the past President and current Board member of the Kansas Association of Play Therapy.

She has been trained in various therapy modalities including EMDR, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Theraplay®, Sand Tray Therapy and Child-Centered Play Therapy.  Bridget is passionate about LGBTQIA+ issues, social justice, attachment and recovering from trauma.
